About Me

Writer. Educator.

Connoisseur of fast food fish sandwiches and history podcasts.

And because I know you're wondering, Culver's North Atlantic Cod Filet Sandwich and History This Week with Sally Helm are the best in their respective categories.

I'm a high school teacher by trade with three years of classroom experience, and eleven years teaching history at a fully-accredited online/virtual public high school. But after years of wishing I could re-write the courses I was teaching, I'm moving on to the next phase of my career, to do just that: to write the darn things myself.

I'm a lifelong learner at heart with a lifetime supply student loans to prove it, lol. I have bachelor's degrees in history and psychology, and I also have a law degree. Not to mention myriad teacher training sessions and professional development conferences. (<--- Yes, this transcript really is 24 pages long!)

My most recent learning adventure is learning Gàidhlig (Scottish Gaelic) and its history, while daydreaming of someday living in the Hebrides of Scotland. I've also been slightly obsessed with the Medici family as of late, specifically the Pazzi Conspiracy (thank you, Netflix).

Must love cats.

Can't get enough? Here are a few of more of my favorite things:

Dare I say it?

Politics. I'm a total political junkie. I doom scroll daily through news media from ALL sides of the aisle. I could tell you about the personal lives of my favorite evening pundits, as if they were family. But not in a stalker-y way.

Don't worry, I don't preach or flaunt my political views, mostly because I don't think on my feet quickly, only to spend the rest of the day fuming about all the things I should've said. This is also probably why I'm a W R I T E R, preferring the pen over the sword and whatnot, lol.

And of course, the little fur-monsters. 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐈
